Two manikin dolls are depicted putting their heads together. They are on a table with flowers and a picture frame. The background shows a couch and a window. The room looks warm and sunny.

Therapy for Couples

Space to slow down, get honest, and reconnect

Maintaining a strong relationship requires intention.

While relationships can be a powerful source of support, intimacy, and meaning, they can also trigger some of our deepest insecurities, frustrations, and fears. Whether you're in your first serious relationship or years into a long-term partnership, couples therapy can offer a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect.

A man and a woman holding hands are depicted from the side. They are wearing backpacks and walking along a grassy ridge.

Maybe You’re:

  • Struggling to communicate without shutting down or blowing up

  • Feeling disconnected, even though you care about each other deeply

  • Unsure how to repair after a rupture or betrayal

  • Navigating differences in needs, values, or future plans

  • Caught in patterns of blame, withdrawal, or defensiveness

  • Trying to rebuild trust, intimacy, or emotional safety

  • Wondering if you're truly compatible, or if it’s time to let go

The silhouettes of two androgynous people are depicted in black and white. One person is leaning their head on the other.
Two people are holding hands on a table. Both are wearing rings, and have light to medium light skin. One person is wearing a white sweater and the other is wearing a black sweater.

How I Help

I use the Gottman Method, an evidence-based approach that helps couples improve communication, manage conflict, and deepen emotional intimacy. Rooted in decades of research on what makes relationships last, the Gottman framework offers practical tools to break unhelpful patterns and build a stronger foundation of trust and friendship.

In our work together, we’ll also draw from a trauma-informed and attachment-based lens, so we can better understand how each of your histories, identities, and protective strategies show up in the dynamic.

We might:

  • Uncover and shift communication patterns that keep you stuck

  • Explore how each of your pasts (family, identity, culture, trauma) show up in your dynamic

  • Strengthen emotional intimacy and rebuild trust

  • Clarify boundaries, needs, and desires

  • Practice repair after conflict so that disconnection doesn’t linger

  • Reconnect to the why behind your relationship

Whether you’re working through a specific challenge or simply want to feel closer again, couples therapy can help you reconnect with more honesty, mutual care, and intention.

“Love takes off the masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.”

— James Baldwin
