Therapy for high-achieving women in San Francisco

I help high-achieving women reclaim their mental health

Specializing in anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt for women

Hi, I’m Annie.

I chose this career path because of my own experiences. I had always been a straight A student–the one no one ever worried about. I made it my job to be nothing but a delight to the people around me. Once I reached adulthood, I appeared fine from the outside, but struggled with anxiety, self-doubt, and a relentless inner critic on the inside. No matter how much positive feedback I received, I couldn’t shake the feeling that failure was just around the corner. I bent over backwards to be or do whatever made others happy, even though it left me feeling overwhelmed and resentful. I couldn’t differentiate between what I should do and what I wanted to do–I felt lost.

Years of being the client in my own therapy and dedicated clinical training has helped me form a healthier relationship with myself and build a life that feels authentic and aligned with who I am at my core. Now, I love helping other women on their journey to do the same.

My Approach

My approach is integrative, but heavily influenced by psychodynamic therapy, parts work, mindfulness, and somatic work. But ultimately, I value building genuine and safe relationships with my clients over the employment of rigid methods or techniques.

A few things I value:

  • Authenticity (no BS)

  • Curiosity

  • Non-judgement

  • Anti-oppression

  • Intersectional feminism

I welcome and celebrate people of all races, religions, gender orientations, sexual orientations, and intersectionalities. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming.

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

  • You’re not looking for quick solutions or worksheets–you’re ready to get curious about your patterns and the hidden parts of yourself, and you’re looking for a guide who knows how to ask the right questions.

  • You’ve seen therapists that validate your every thought and feeling–and this is helpful to an extent, but you’re also looking to challenge yourself. You want someone who will be direct with you (with compassion).

  • You want to work with someone who understands the inherently unequal power dynamic that exists when only one person in a relationship has to be vulnerable. You want a therapist who offers their own vulnerability when necessary (in short, If you are curious about me and my life, I will answer your questions like a normal person).

  • I believe that how you feel in the present is inseparable from the larger systems you're a part of–family, culture, societal structures, global events–and how your identity interacts with them. These layers are also connected to the legacy of your ancestors and what has been passed down through generations.

Pink flowers with green stems are shown growing on the side of a hill. The background is misty.

Imagine if…

  • You trusted yourself to figure things out, even when the path isn’t clear

  • You believed in yourself and your ideas, despite the voices of others

  • You felt deeply connected, seen, and supported by your relationships

  • You felt worthy and lovable–even after a mistake or in the midst of failure

  • You showed up with confidence, expressed yourself fully, and led from your values

  • You made decisions from a place of inner knowing, grounded in what you care about most

  • The life you were building felt authentic and aligned with who you are at your core
